Summer Goodness :-)

Yeah, it's been a really cool week. Friday the 15th was the Harry Potter Opening night party at Curious George Wordsworth; there were cool people in cool costumes, root beer floats, Sorting, fortune telling, trivia (I won some tasty Ice Mice! :-D ), loads of candy and cookies, and at midnight, the books themselves!! I showed up at about 10:30 and stayed till 1 in the morning or so; I loved every minute! The next day me, my dad, Alison, and Jen all went to Chef Chang's house, then me and Alison went to Fenway Park to see the Sox vs. the Yankees; Randy Johnson vs. Matt Clement. Alas, the Yankees won 7-4 but at least Boston made it interesting at the end. Then on Sunday there was Jen's birthday party, where there were lots of folks; my mom, dad, Alison, Jen, Robin, Petra, Kincade, Betsy, Lisle & her mom, Susan, Sam, Emma, Maggie, June, Viesia, Dan and . . . I don't think I forgot anyone ;-) There were loads of yummy cookout-type foods, chips, salsa, decorate-your-own cupcakes, and a very strange tofu-shaped toy thing Dan got for Jen that said it was made by sheep's milk . . . nope, not kidding. That one should definitely go up on the Engrish website ;-)

I finished Harry Potter VI this week, and it actually made me cry at the end . . . what a shocker! Still one of the best books I've ever read tho . . . Chinese classes are still fun, tho Monday is our midterm exam, I can't believe we're halfway through already! I also sent Alison and Robin my reviews of Here Is Greenwood, Yongbi The Invincible, and Wild Com. for the No Flying No Tights graphic novel review website--those were three really good mangas! I hope Jen & Alison like their Tokyo Kid gift certificate :-) Let's see . . . I also saw March of the Penguins and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (yeah Johnny Depp!) this week, they were really awesome and I might have to see them again! :-) Plus I got to practice my Chinese at the Peach Farm which was cool, and I could actually recognize a few of the characters on the menu which was extra cool! I definitely want to go to China sometime soon :-)

So overall it's been a pretty rockin' summer--hopefully there shall be more rockin' in the near future! :-D (plus my teacher found my lost keys--they were in her office after all! that's really good cuz losing my keys would NOT have been any fun--oh well, don't have to worry about that any more :-D ) And now, it's almost time for dinner . . . :-)
